Hullabaloo: A summary of the event and prop-making!

Over the year I have been on the committee for our fundraiser night, Hullabaloo. Pretty much all of us craft based illustrators, therefore each event has had handmade decorations.
Here are some images of the three events we put on....

Some sign lettering for our photo booth at the first Hullabaloo. These were also used at the second event, but were thrown away accidently by the venue owner.

Hullabaloo 2: For this event, I had the idea to make large scale leaves out of cardboard to make the central pillar into a palm tree. We also wrapped fairy lights around the pillar. Also these were thrown away accidently.

Hullabaloo 3: As most of our decorations had been thrown away, we had to make do with what we had which was the big 'H' we had used in all three events, some coloured paper, string and some gold balloons. With only a few of us, it was our record set up, only taking us about an hour, which was great.

This has been a great experience each time. We all had fun and managed to raise £2,500 for our graduate show. Cathy and I have also talked to the venue owner about putting on an independent event during the summer. This will be a great way to continue with the prop making and creating events.
