Self promotion: Logo Ideas.

With much emphasis put on our professional practice unit and the graduate show, I was keen to make an image that could summarise my whole practice. This is something which I find particularly difficult as my practice has a range of techniques and it is only recently that i have started to piece together this techniques effectively. Thinking about my future, I can see myself working in team environments, problem solving and realising creative solutions for marketing strategies. These qualities are very important to come across in different elements of my professional profile....


I started drawing out different logo ideas in my sketchbook and cutting out a few...these are a few that I have come up with so far. I think what it definite in these is showing a sense of my paper cutting technique and personality combined.

I am not really that enamoured with the way that I have created the strands of hair, It looks a little unfinished and not particularly in keeping with both my papercutting and ink techniques which I use when making a layered paper character. I'd like to try making this again but drawing the hair strands on with ink and brush.

This idea of the head and speech bubble is to represent myself not only as a creative person but one that communicate ideas. This then developed into a speech bubble with my initials as i considered the scale of the logo and how it needed to be less fussy.
