I also took the opportunity to present my logo idea at its current state.
The feedback from my tutors and my peers was that the logo didn't really reflect my practice as it suggested that I was interested in type rather than people and theatre. It was suggested that I rethink how I wanted to present myself. Also it was said that I didn't necessarily need to create a new image. Instead I could just use a recent image as a motif.
Marcus Oakley was particularly drawn to the self-portrait paper cut I had created last week. Even though I don't think I would use that image per se, it still opened to my eyes to a different direction I could take.
Taking this criticism on board. I decided that the week needed to be dedicated to professional practice to catch up on the branding I had not yet grasped. I went back to the drawing board, thinking about the different techniques within my practice. The first idea was textured type- Something simple- Drawing my name out in ink, tracing and cutting it out of coloured pencil texture....
The method I chose to create this typography was probably not the quickest, however it was worth it in my opinion as immediately I could see myself in this type. In my opinion, I don't think my name should be used as my logo as at a small scale it would be difficult to read. I would like to explore different ways to frame the type or a logo to alongside it.
