New images and compositions!

Playing around with composition- This could work well with a series of layers, not just the characters in the foreground but objects and landmarks.

Here is a variety of work from the past week. as you can see I have attempted to strip back my images back to simple linear drawings with only a limited colour palette. It appears to be more effective when I either put down a base of colour shapes and work back into the image. This week I have also tried to envisage backgrounds and characters separately, therefore I can create a range of different compositions using the scanner as a tool to capture different scenes.

This week has been particularly difficult as I have a bit of a lull in my creative process. The pace of the project is going much slower than anticipated and I have identified that this may be because of my pressure on myself to make the work I create true to the original images. However, I must keep in mind that these are my own interpretations of what I would have seen as an awestruck child. They are allowed to look a little naive. But I must be cautious of the technique I apply to each image and how this will affect its overall aesthetic.
